Lady Maxime

THE SOUL IS THE SECRET OF THE BUSINESS

A good friend once told me: “If there weren’t any secrets, no money would change hands” …. but in this world it’s hard not to have secrets. The curtain hides more than it shows. We all have a story and I’ve chosen to confide mine in you.

I’m Lady Maxime, I wasn’t christened that but it’s the name that defines me and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I grew up in the streets of Bairro Alto where I lived with my grandmother and aunt.My grandmother Antónia was a chamber maid in various Lisbon hotels and she didn’t get much time off. My aunt, who was 8 years older, wanted to be a performing artist and performed in various clubs as a dancer and an escort. She was a dreamer who never made it, she was disappointed in love and the last one caused her to take her own life.

I’ve never been in love but I’m a master at the art of seduction. There are those who say I’m foxy because I can manipulate like no one else.I don’t take offence. It’s part of the game.

I’ve been working since a tender age. I joined the Maxime Hotel as a chamber maid thanks to my grandmother and it was here that I became a woman. I’ve never had cover girl looks, but I’ve always had the right attitude and presence which to this day turn heads when I walk into a room.

That was how I attracted the attention of the Hotel owner, a very influential person in society at that time. Knowing that I simply adored shows and the arts, he offered me the management of the restaurant to please me and thereby buy my appreciation.

Sadly, my beloved died in suspicious circumstances and left me his hotel, a shocking scandal that made me even more popular. I took over the management of both Hotel and restaurant…and made Maxime what it is today.
