There’s no bluffing here, so take a risk and be sure to win. In the secrecy of the most basic instincts, the leather, the wood and stone are part of the game.
Hanna always moved in the underworld of the night. Between bars and cabarets, relationships and fortuitous friendships, Hanna became a shadow with neither past nor present or any history to link her to anyone. She was neither a singer nor dancer, her art was to dissemble. Elegant, sensual and with a sharp intelligence, she often took on the role of the hostess at the gaming tables and she blew the hands of strangers to give them luck. Her greatest talent wasn’t gambling… But rather the game itself.
I knew Hanna on one of her trips to Lisbon, through a friend in common that recommended her because of her singular talent in solving “problems”. We crossed paths in a furtive way and created a complicity of the kind that no longer exists. Hanna stayed in Lisbon and today we’re inseparable. She is my right hand and confidante. Only I know what Hanna is really like. As a joke I used to say: “Hanna, secrets are, without a doubt, the soul of the business”.
